The Commemorative event at the Winged Lion Memorial – Prague

Today 14th August, Alex Scott Secretary of MAFCSV, escorted the organiser Jiří Stanislav at the commemorative event at the Winged Lion Memorial in Prague. This service was to commemorate the anniversary when the Czechoslovak Airmen who fought with the Allies in WWII returned to their homeland.

Blessed with good weather Alex Scott, whose father’s name is one of the many inscribed on the memorial, had the opportunity to lay a wreath on behalf of the MAFCSV. It was a proud and poignant moment to be part of this event. Prayers were led by Dominik Cardinal Duka and there was a performance by the students from Gen Perina’s School.

After Alex attended the Reception at the Archbishop’s Palace and made lots of new friendships and links with others who feel as passionately about the veterans as we do.

We look forward to developing these further and having the opportunity to reciprocate their hospitality at one of our future Brookwood commemorative events.

Thank you to all those who organised an amazing day.
